No, it's an infra red sensor not a motion sensor. You need to physically wave your hand near the sensor to switch on/off the mirror or cabinet lights.
However, if you have a bespoke item you may have opted for a motion sensor at the time of ordering. In this case you would need to enter the room to activate the mirror.
